The Basement Vagrants is a look at all of the things that would make a person be called a geek. Videogames, film, comics and television. Hosted by Recker with a carousel of special guests including Schweitzer and members of the Ring Crew, it's a different perspective to a common discussion.
It's the Basement Vagrants! On the 38th episode, Recker, Schweitzer and the Ring Crew boys (on their last episode!) talk about movies they walked out of or almost walked out of, do a trivia game on the worst movies of all time according to IMDB ratings, review their watched films and TV shows of the week and talk a bit about Recker finally getting into Boardwalk Empire and Sons of Anarchy! Oh yeah, and the Hobbit! Thirty Eight!
THE KING OF THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM IS CROWNED! Vagrants 37 includes a game between Dubya and Recker on Nintendo knowledge and the assignment includes the cartoons you thought were good as a kid but don't seem so good anymore. Or TV shows other people thought were good. Or cartoons you actually thought were good. Recker wasn't really clear on this one folks! We also review the Wii-U, talk some Dexter and talk some Boardwalk Empire! And whoa, does someone discuss rap? LISTEN TO FIND OUT!
The Basement Vagrants returns! It's all about Bond as the Vagrants discuss Skyfall in great detail, finding every possible way to nitpick a film they generally enjoyed quite a lot! Also, Dubya and Bubs discuss their favourite movie soundtracks while Recker and Schweitzer focus on Bond themes. Also, weeks after Halloween is a game on naming killers! Which member of the Vagrants can name more associates than the others? All this and more on 0036!
It's Bond's 50th anniversary this year! (only 4 more years and he's as old as Roger Moore was when he was offered sex from a 17-year-old in For Your Eyes Only). When we think of Bond we think of a suave, cool, daring gentleman who always saves the day in the most dignified way possible, but that's not always the case. Bond has pulled his fair share of boners in the last five decades and I've compiled a list of what I think are the biggest offenders.
This week in the Basement Bubs, Dubs, Shwubs and Rubs talk about just what makes a memorable madman on the small screen as we discuss our picks for best TV villians of all time. We try to live up to our nation's bilingual roots as we play a game of International Movie Quotes. Bubs and Recker engage in some killer Dexter talk as we run down the season premiere of our favorite series about a sociopathic monster (other than Honey Boo-Boo). Later in reviews Recker loves his Statham, Shweitzer checks out a new take on his childhood heroes, Bubs almost dies of Typhoid or something and Dubya gives some interesting commentary on a modern classic.
Recker decided to shake up the show with... LEONARD MALTIN? That's right, the Basement Vagrants comes with a fantastic movie trivia show on episode 34! Along with news and reviews, the boys also discuss what they would bring with them on a desert island! Wait, how could they bring TV shows if there is no electricity? STOP THINKING TOO MUCH ABOUT IT AND JUST LISTEN YOU JOKES!
Do you watch so much television that when you go do karaoke, you just want to sing TV theme songs? No? Well, are you the type of person who can't walk into a bar without hoping everybody knows your name? Really, not once? Wow, we must be messed up. It's Basement Vagrants with our favourite TV themes!
Sorry everyone, there will be no Basement Vagrants today. Sad I know, but don't fret too much because next week we'll have something for you for sure. Instead, I've put together a short list of a few songs from our good friends at YTMND.
This is an addendum to my previous New Super Mario Bros 2 review. Just a few things after playing more of the game to mention, not a re-review.
New Super Mario Bros 2 has been living in our 3DSs for a couple weeks now. We’ve all had the chance to defeat Bowser, grab some of that sweet sweet gold and make up our minds whether the Mario series has hit the skids or if it’s just as fun as ever. Have I changed my opinion on the game in the last fortnight? Well , sorta.
