Vagrant Review: The Babadook

Vagrant Review: The Babadook

Internet buzz is a powerful thing, especially when it comes to independent movies. Some filmmakers rely on it more than anything else to advertise their work and The Babadook is definitely one of those. Near the end of the year the internet was abuzz with talk about The Babadook and how it’s a “return to true horror” and “the best horror movie of the year”, which isn’t high praise when you look at the landscape of horror in 2014, but nevertheless I had to check it out. One of these facts I just told you is true and one is false, but each one seems equally believable to me since Silver Linings Playbook is one of the worst movies I’ve seen in years. In this new series on theringcrewshow.com I am going to break down the worst aspects of movies I hate and try to pinpoint exactly why they’re awful.
